Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Hourglass Trader collects when you use hourglasstrader.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are

Hourglass Trader is an options-trading education and research service operated as a sole proprietorship in the United States. You can reach us at hourglasstrader@gmail.com about anything in this policy.

What we collect

We never see or store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We receive a confirmation, an amount, and a subscription status.

Cookies and similar technologies

• Authentication — Firebase stores a session token so you stay signed in.
• Google Analytics 4 (property G-Q7W78EKWG4) — measures traffic and which pages get used.
• Meta Pixel (ID 1583274193386379) — measures whether advertising works, and lets us show ads to people who have visited. It sets _fbp and, if you arrive from a Meta ad, _fbc.
• Local storage — we keep a small record of the channel you first arrived from, under the key ht_attr.

Advertising and the Conversions API

When you buy a subscription, our server sends Meta a purchase event so we can tell which advertising produced a sale. Your email address is hashed with SHA-256 before it leaves our server; Meta receives the hash, not the address. We send the amount, the plan name, and the identifiers described above. We do not send anything about your trading, positions, or activity inside the tools.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services required to run this one:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, hosting
• Stripe — payment processing and billing
• Meta — advertising measurement, as described above
• Google Analytics — traffic measurement
• Discord — community access, if you provide a username
• Sanity — hosts our published research posts
• Google Workspace — sends email to you and logs registrations

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. Ask us to delete it and we will remove your account and its data within 30 days, other than records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes. Analytics data expires on the providers' own schedules.

Your choices

• Email — turn research notifications on or off in your account, or use the unsubscribe link in any email. Turning them off does not affect your subscription.
• Access or deletion — email us and we will provide or delete your data.
• Analytics and advertising — browser settings, ad blockers, and Meta's own ad preferences all work here. Blocking them does not restrict your use of the site.

Children

This service is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, for changes that affect how we use your data, tell subscribers by email.
